Backstage at KNWLS London Fashion Week with Daniel Jianing

Our creative director, Daniel Jianing, joined the KEVIN.MURPHY team backstage at KNWLS during London Fashion Week, where the hair looks for the runway were directed by Eugene Souleiman, KEVIN.MURPHY's Global Professional Ambassador, whose work spans Prada, Alexander McQueen, Maison Margiela, Yohji Yamamoto, Celine, and Chanel.

Where Rheims' women were caught mid-motion, half in and half out of their clothes, Souleiman found the equivalent gesture in hair. Buns and ponytails hung low and loose at the nape, the front left undone, strands escaping, bangs frayed or damp-looking, as though shaped by the movement of everyday life. Souleiman explored states amidst done and undone. What's stood out most, through all of it, is their dedication. The extra care, the willingness to learn, the hours most people don't see. And alongside that, their creativity has flourished into something truly their own: a distinct eye, a confident hand, an instinct for what makes a look feel right.

Daniel has worked alongside the team to bring Souleiman's vision to life backstage, executing the hair looks under his direction throughout the show.
